About Abdo

Are you ready to discover Arabic, the Qur’an, Tajwid, or Islamic studies with a passionate and experienced teacher?
My name is Abdelalim. For over 5 years, and with more than 15,000 teaching hours, I have had the privilege of guiding French-speaking students of all ages — children, adults, and new Muslims — in learning Arabic and deepening their understanding of Islam.
Some of my students have even gained professional opportunities in Arab countries thanks to their progress, which is a great source of pride for meAs a graduate of Al-Azhar University, one of the most prestigious institutions in Islamic scholarship, I teach using a clear and dynamic method. I simplify rules through easy-to-memorize poems and include interactive activities to make each lesson engaging and motivating.
What motivates me most is seeing my students progress, read the Qur’an fluently, and understand the deeper meanings of the verses. Every improvement is a shared success.

  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Arabic fluently both because it is my native language and because of a deep academic and spiritual journey. My passion was strengthened by inspiring teachers who guided me in mastering classical Arabic and teaching it effectively to non-native speakers.
  • 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

One of the most emblematic figures is Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whose eloquence and use of Arabic deeply influenced the language and its culture. His speech represents clarity, wisdom, and beauty in expression.
  • 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

I particularly love the phrase “BarakAllahu feek” (بارك الله فيك), which reflects gratitude and دعا (supplication). It shows how Arabic is not only a language, but also a way to express kindness and spirituality.
  • 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Speaking Arabic is essential to me because it connects me to the Qur’an and Islamic heritage. It also allows me to help others understand the beauty and depth of the language, especially students who want to learn it for religious or cultural reasons.
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

The main difficulty is often pronunciation and understanding grammar structures. However, with the right method—interactive lessons, consistent practice, and real-life examples—students can progress quickly and confidently.
  • 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

I remember one of my students who couldn’t pronounce basic Arabic letters at first. With patience and step-by-step guidance, he was able within a few months to read simple Qur’anic verses correctly. That moment reminded me why I love teaching.
  • 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Interacting with students from different countries has enriched my teaching approach. It helped me understand various learning styles and adapt my explanations, especially for French-speaking learners.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in language?

What makes me a Superprof is my ability to simplify complex concepts, my patience, and my experience teaching Arabic and Qur’an to non-native speakers. I focus on practical learning, clear pronunciation, and building confidence in my students.
