About Angela

I am a certified Special Education and ESL teacher with experience teaching elementary students in an online setting. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching, and I have worked with students who have a wide range of learning needs and ability levels.

I especially enjoy helping students who struggle with reading, phonics, fluency, comprehension, writing, and foundational math skills. My background in special education has taught me how important it is to meet students where they are, break skills into manageable steps, and provide multiple ways for students to understand and practice new concepts.

I use structured, explicit instruction while keeping lessons encouraging and engaging. I incorporate visuals, modeling, guided practice, repetition, and interactive activities to help students build both academic skills and confidence.

I believe every student can make progress when they receive instruction that fits the way they learn. My goal is to create a positive tutoring environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their growth.

About the lesson

I believe students learn best when instruction is clear, supportive, and tailored to their individual needs. As a certified Special Education and ESL teacher with experience teaching elementary students online, I use a patient, structured approach that helps students build both skills and confidence.

My teaching methods include explicit instruction, modeling, guided practice, repetition, visual supports, and frequent checks for understanding. For reading instruction, I use structured literacy techniques that focus on phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. I break difficult skills into smaller, manageable steps so students can experience success without feeling overwhelmed.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previously learned skills, followed by focused instruction on a new skill or concept. Students then practice with my support before working more independently. I include interactive activities, games, visuals, and discussion whenever possible to keep lessons engaging. I also adjust lessons based on how the student is responding rather than following a one-size-fits-all plan.

What sets me apart is my experience working with students who may need extra time, additional explanation, repeated practice, or a different way of learning a skill. I understand that struggling learners often know more than they are able to show in a traditional classroom setting. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence.

My lessons are best suited for elementary students in grades K–3, especially students who need additional support in reading, phonics, fluency, reading comprehension, basic writing, or foundational math skills. I also enjoy working with students who receive special education services, have learning differences, are English language learners, or simply need extra practice and encouragement.
