As a certified Special Education teacher with over 10 years of experience, I bring patience, creativity, and structure to every session. I specialize in making math—particularly arithmetic and algebra—accessible for learners who may have struggled in traditional settings or benefit from more personalized, confidence-building instruction.
Teaching Method & Techniques
My teaching style is student-centered and strengths-based. I use real-life examples, visual aids, and step-by-step problem-solving to make abstract concepts more concrete. I emphasize understanding over memorization, helping students develop true number sense and transferable problem-solving strategies. I also adapt my techniques to fit each learner's processing style and pace.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session begins with a quick warm-up to activate prior knowledge, followed by a focused review of previously covered material. Then we move into the day’s core concept, using guided examples, interactive practice, and student-led problem-solving. I close each lesson with a check for understanding and a strategy for independent practice or the next session.
