About Salome
Ndewo! I’m Salome, a certified teacher from Nigeria with a BSc, PGDE, TRCN, and TEFL certificate. For 5+ years, I taught Early, Primary, and Secondary learners in Nigerian classrooms before focusing on Igbo heritage language.
I started tutoring because I saw too many kids in the diaspora unable to talk to their grandparents. Language shouldn’t be a barrier to family. Igbo carries our stories, our proverbs, our way of greeting and respecting elders. This I definitely don’t want us to lose.
Every time a shy seven-year-old greets me with “Kedu?” or an adult student calls their mom in Igbo for the first time, I remember why I do this.
I teach because I believe every child deserves to know their roots, and every adult deserves the pride of reclaiming their language. With my classroom training, I make sure we get there with structured and engaging lessons.

I believe language is more than words. It’s culture, identity, and connection. As a certified teacher with a BSc, PGDE, and Masters, plus 5+ years teaching Early/Primary and Secondary learners, I bring real classroom expertise to every Igbo lessons. Beginners will begin to hold basic Conversations with family, while kids gain the confidence to greet elders, introduce themselves and sing Igbo songs.
