About Makenna

Hi! I’m a certified teacher who specializes in supporting students in Grades 4–10 across math, science, social studies, and language arts. I’ve always loved learning—but school wasn’t always easy for me. Growing up with ADHD, I often felt frustrated and misunderstood in the classroom. That experience shaped who I am as a teacher today: patient, creative, and deeply committed to helping every student realize their potential. I understand that no two learners are the same, and I use flexible, personalized strategies to help students build confidence, master tricky concepts, and tap into their unique strengths. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying focused, or simply believing in themselves, I’m here to offer encouragement, structure, and results that last. Each lesson is designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to your child’s learning style—with clear goals, consistent routines, and plenty of positive reinforcement. I’m not just here to help with homework—I’m here to help students feel successful, motivated, and proud of what they can achieve. About the lesson

My teaching style is all about meeting students where they’re at—whether they need a confidence boost, help catching up, or want to get ahead. I use clear explanations, interactive strategies, and real-life examples to make tough concepts make sense.

A typical lesson includes a quick check-in, a review of past concepts, focused work on new material, and time to practice—with plenty of encouragement and problem-solving strategies built in. I adapt each session to match the student’s pace and learning style, whether they thrive with visuals, step-by-step breakdowns, or engaging discussions.

What sets me apart is my energy, patience, and ability to connect with middle years students in a way that makes learning feel less like a chore and more like a win. I bring classroom experience, deep curriculum knowledge, and a warm, supportive vibe to every session.
