Accent reduction courses are based on the concept of "intelligibility." We set realistic goals together in the initial meetings, focusing on "high value features" of pronunciation which are derived from empirical linguistic and TESOL research. We will focus on prosody primarily, as this is a key feature in American English intelligibility.
