About Brigid

At heart, I am a designer—which means I naturally love creative problem-solving, looking at the big picture, and building things that actually work for people. Teaching English is a natural extension of that passion. For me, tutoring isn’t about following a rigid, one-size-fits-all textbook; it’s about getting to know you, understanding your unique goals, and custom-designing a clear, enjoyable path to help you reach them.

What drives me most is a genuine desire to help others improve their lives. Learning a new language opens so many doors—whether that is landing a better job, feeling at home in a new country, traveling with ease, or simply having the confidence to express who you really are. I love connecting with people from all walks of life, hearing your stories, and working together as a team to turn your goals into reality. In our lessons, you will find a patient, creative, and encouraging space where everything we do is built around who you are and where you want to go.

About the lesson

My Teaching Methodology:
My lessons are built around a communicative, student-centered approach. I believe the fastest way to learn a language is by actually using it, so my classes focus heavily on practical, real-world English rather than just memorizing textbook rules. Depending on your goals, we will use a mix of guided conversation, interactive exercises, role-play scenarios, and authentic materials (like articles, audio clips, and everyday media). I provide a relaxed, supportive environment where making mistakes is simply part of the learning process—I will gently correct your pronunciation and grammar as we go, giving you clear notes at the end of each class so you can track your progress.

Lesson Structure & Length:
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which gives us plenty of time for a quick warm-up, introducing new vocabulary or grammar concepts, practicing them in real conversation, and reviewing feedback at the end. However, I am happy to offer 30- or 45-minute sessions for younger learners or busy professionals who prefer shorter, high-focus check-ins. Your first session will include a relaxed assessment of your current level and a chat about what you want to achieve so I can build a personalized learning plan just for you.

My Qualifications & Experience
As a certified TEFL Graduate and native English speaker, I have been trained in modern language-teaching techniques, lesson planning, and breaking down complex grammar into simple, easy-to-understand steps. Alongside my TEFL qualification, I bring practical real-world workplace experience, meaning I can also help you with professional communication, interview preparation, emails, and everyday conversational fluency.
