About Travelinguist
Certified with 10+years of experience, I've taught Yale University, University of Wisconsin and corporate clients. I specialize in Spoken Indonesian (slang) but, of course, I can also teach you the formal Indonesian grammar and vocabulary.
I have a Master's degree in applied linguistics and a Bachelor's degree in language teaching.
Most of the time I teach using authentic materials (YouTube videos, memes, social media comments) and, if asked to, I teach some vernacular varieties.
The goal is obvious: to get you speaking confidently with Indonesians on the streets and in formal events.

How much time does it take to learn Indonesian outside of Indonesia?
It takes roughly 6 months to get to the B1 level, depending on how many hours you practice in a day.
The easiest way to master the 'colloquial or informal' version of this language is to use authentic materials from social media, podcasts and online videos. You may not know most of the words and idioms there, but hey, that's normal. If you need help, that's where I come in...
If you study with me, we will do a lot of speaking drills to train your speech muscles to produce language output effortlessly.
We will talk about daily topics and things you need to know to, not just survive, but 'thrive' in Indonesia.
