About Omar

I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Chemical engineering involves complex intertwining of Physics, Chemistry & Maths to deliver solutions to dilemmas such as feasible substitutions for fossil fuels. Presenting countless projects, both in written and oral form, nurtured professionalism and interpersonal skills such as communication & teamwork. My passion for teaching stems from my personal educational journey. I was supported by great teachers who complemented my peculiar learning styles & revision strategies, so that I could reach my full potential. I endeavour to mirror this!

About the lesson

I understand the importance of tailoring lessons to individual needs. This stems from various assessments and modules students undertake which dictate the skills and type of studying required. For example, GCSE exam revision necessitates understanding theoretical concepts followed by practice questions & feedback. Whereas a large chunk of an undergraduate engineering degree involves projects which entail: research, written reports & presentations. Moreover, students have unique learning styles and revision strategies to assimilate taught content; ranging from flash cards to videos and regurgitation. Whatever they are, I endeavour to complement these, so every student can reach their full potential. The above was made apparent through past experience of mentoring junior engineering students as well as supporting KS3 classes whilst undertaking my A-levels. My entire educational journey has transpired in London and with 8 A*s 2A's in GCSE, I have first hand experience of succeeding at GCSEs.
I believe each lesson should be 1 hour long for brevity & efficiency. I tutor the following and I'm happy for content to be sent in advance of the lesson in order to prepare. • Chemistry: KS3 – A-level • Maths: KS3 – GCSE • Physics: KS3 – GCSE • Biology: KS3 - GCSE • Chemical Engineering: Undergraduate Degree level (dissertations, design projects, exam revision).
