About Paolo

Completing and achieving 3 A* in A-Levels at The Cardinal Wiseman School has provided me with first-hand experience in preparing, focusing and completing public examinations to achieve maximum potential. I recently graduated from Imperial College London studying a Masters in Chemical Engineering, achieving First-Class Honours. I am highly motivated to give students the confidence needed to enjoy and excel in their exams. Having 3 younger siblings of different abilities has given me the experience teaching primary school, GCSE and to A-Level standard.

I am very comfortable teaching students who need to first gain a solid foundation or those who want to boost their marks from good to perfect. Prior to teaching, I will go through the relevant specification to cover everything needed for the exam. My teaching style is clear and concise, first to explain the content in a detailed manner and once it is understood, practise exam questions to get the student comfortable to the exam format and question style.

In addition to helping students succeed academically, I am also more than happy to help with subject choices and applying to university. Having been through applying and getting into a Russel Group University, I know what is required from writing a personal statement to excelling in an interview.

About the lesson

I have been studying for and excelling in public exams for the past 8 years. I understand the whole process is tough and my aim is to make students feel confident and give them belief they can and will do exceptionally.

Before I meet a student, I will find out what exam board and course they are doing. I will then look through the specification and plan the lessons, ensuring I cover every single point. In the first half of the lesson I will explain the concepts in a lot of detail, then once this is understood in the second half we will go through exam-style questions. This ensures the student fully understands what they have just been taught and knows exactly what to expect in the exam.

I have always been organised, patient and logical. These traits are fundamental and key to success. I will teach a student how to organise themselves and how to manage their time in the most efficient way possible.
