About Caleb
I am a chemistry and algebra-based physics tutor with four years of experience, working with students at high school and college levels. At the college level, I have tutored students in General Chemistry and General Physics. My goal is always to go beyond simply helping students complete assignments to allowing students to achieve full understanding of the material. I hold a bachelor's degree in environmental science, which is a very interdisciplinary field and has allowed me to understand not just isolated subjects, but their relationship to each other. I also have experience as an instructor for college-level laboratory classes in chemistry, further deepening my understanding of the concepts and applications of the subject material.

My lessons are tailored to the needs of the student and the specific material. I start by seeking to understand the student's current understanding of the topic and adjust the lesson accordingly. Students' notes and homework assignments usually play a role in the sessions, but I also often use practice problems not from the class material to further build students' understanding and retention rather than memorizing solutions.
