About Corliss
Hello! My name is Corliss. I am a 2025 IB graduate of Glenunga International High School, achieving a 98.70 ATAR and a 7 in IB Chemistry, and I am currently studying Veterinary Bioscience (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) at the University of Adelaide.
Having recently completed IB Chemistry SL and Year 10 Specialist Chemistry, I have a thorough and current understanding of the IB Chemistry syllabus and assessment style. I understand the common difficulties students face and focus on helping them build confidence, improve exam technique, and strengthen conceptual understanding.
As a tutor, I am organized, reliable, and patient. I value creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
I am passionate about helping students develop a solid understanding of Chemistry, build confidence in their abilities, and approach the subject with a more positive and confident mindset.

About the lesson
I provide one-to-one IB Chemistry tutoring, as well as Chemistry tutoring for students studying Year 9 and Year 10 Chemistry, with a strong focus on conceptual understanding, effective study strategies, and exam techniques to help students achieve their personal best.
Having recently completed the IB program and IB Chemistry course myself, I understand the challenges Chemistry students face and aim to explain complex ideas in a clear, simple, and structured way, helping students build confidence and improve their results.

I understand that Chemistry can be a confusing and challenging subject to students, therefore, I deeply believe that to do well in Chemistry, having a strong conceptual understanding and exposure to practice questions is the key to success.
In my lessons, I focus on:
-Building strong foundations by explaining concepts clearly and simply
-Breaking complex ideas into small, manageable steps
-Adapting lessons to each student’s learning pace and goals
-Reinforcing understanding through guided practice questions
-Talking students through problem-solving strategies and common mistakes
-Sharing study techniques and exam strategies with students

-Each lesson will be an hour
-Lessons can include:
1. Pre-teaching upcoming topics
2. Teaching topics that students find difficult
3. Targeted practice
4. Exam or test preparation
