About Sofia
I am a Chemistry B.S. graduate with a strong passion for science and helping students build confidence in chemistry. During my undergraduate studies, I gained hands-on experience through laboratory work, research, and assisting with undergraduate chemistry labs.
I understand that chemistry can feel overwhelming, especially when several concepts build on each other. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn.
Whether you are preparing for a chemistry exam, struggling with a difficult concept, or simply want to improve your understanding of the material, I will work with you at your pace and help you develop the skills and confidence to succeed.

My approach is to make chemistry easier to understand by breaking complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps and connecting them to real-world examples. I adjust my teaching style to each student’s learning needs and focus on understanding rather than memorization.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student is struggling with, reviewing the key concepts, and then working through practice problems together. I encourage students to explain concepts back to me so I can make sure they truly understand the material and feel confident solving problems independently.
My lessons are designed for high school students taking Chemistry and college students taking General Chemistry I & II and Organic Chemistry. As a Chemistry B.S. graduate with laboratory and research experience, I can help students connect classroom concepts to practical scientific applications.
