About Atalanta

I am a friendly, patient and approachable tutor specialising in Chemistry and Maths. I have a strong academic background and understand that these subjects can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming, particularly when preparing for important exams.

I aim to make lessons clear, engaging and tailored to each student's individual needs. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, looking to improve your grades, or aiming for the highest marks possible, I will work with you to build both your understanding and confidence.

I believe that the best way to learn is by understanding the reasoning behind a problem rather than simply memorising answers. I therefore focus on breaking challenging concepts down into manageable steps and using plenty of practice questions to make sure students feel confident applying what they have learned.

I am happy to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and can provide support with homework, exam preparation, revision and individual topics. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn.

About the lesson

My approach to Tutoring
I believe the best tutoring is about making difficult topics feel simple and manageable. I focus on understanding why something works rather than simply memorising information, helping students build the confidence and problem-solving skills they need to work independently.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs. I start by identifying areas they find challenging, then break complex topics into smaller, easier-to-understand steps. I use worked examples, practice questions and active questioning throughout the lesson, gradually reducing support as the student becomes more confident.

Lesson Length
Lessons are typically 1 hour, although I can adapt the length depending on the student’s age, level and requirements.

My Experience & Qualifications
I have a strong academic background in Chemistry, with extensive experience studying and applying chemistry at university for my degree. I also have a strong foundation in Mathematics and enjoy helping students develop their confidence with calculations and problem-solving.

I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

I offer tutoring in Chemistry and Mathematics for students from secondary school through to GCSE/A-Level level. I can help with:

Exam preparation and revision
Homework and assignments
Working through practice questions
