About Abigail
Hi, I'm Abi.
I'm a Chemistry graduate from Newcastle University (BSc Hons in Chemistry), and I've worked as a research scientist at a startup. I now tutor GCSE Chemistry, GCSE Maths and A-level Chemistry.
I know these subjects well, and I've used them in a real lab, so I can explain not just how to get the answer but why it works. My lessons are relaxed and focused, built around the topics you find hardest and the way exam questions are actually marked. Whether you're aiming for a top grade or just want to feel less lost, I'll help you get there.

How I teach
I don't just read through the textbook with you. We start with whatever you're stuck on, whether that's a topic from class, a homework question, or a past paper that went badly. I explain the reasoning first so it actually makes sense rather than being something to memorise, then we practise exam-style questions and look at how marks are really awarded. There are no silly questions, and if my first explanation doesn't click, I'll try another way.
Lesson length
Usually 60 minutes. I can do longer sessions for exam season or shorter catch-up ones if that suits you better.
About me
I've got a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Newcastle University (including a year studying abroad) and I've worked as a research scientist in a lab. So I know the content well and can show you where it's used in the real world.
