About Alyssa
My fascination with chemical transformations inspired me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemistry followed by an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, giving me both theoretical expertise and practical lab experience. Over 7 years of teaching, I have helped students understand fundamental and advanced chemistry concepts, build analytical skills, and gain confidence in applying knowledge.
I teach with clarity, structure, and interactive guidance, using practical exercises, visual aids, and examples to ensure students grasp concepts deeply. I encourage curiosity, independent exploration, and critical thinking to foster both understanding and enthusiasm.
Beyond the classroom, I engage with research literature, laboratory projects, and applied chemistry challenges, bringing relevant examples to my teaching. Witnessing students confidently tackle complex topics, develop analytical reasoning, and find joy in chemistry is immensely fulfilling, inspiring me to continually refine my teaching methods.

Chemistry is a fascinating subject that explains the transformations of matter, and my lessons focus on making its concepts clear, practical, and engaging. Students study reaction mechanisms, bonding theories, stoichiometry, kinetics, and analytical techniques through structured explanations, demonstrations, and problem-solving exercises. Emphasis is on conceptual understanding and application rather than rote memorisation, nurturing analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and curiosity about chemical processes. Each session encourages students to explore, experiment, and connect theory to everyday life.
Lessons are personalised based on student level. Beginners learn atomic structures, basic reactions, and fundamental calculations, establishing foundational knowledge. Intermediate learners explore solution chemistry, thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and molecular interactions, strengthening reasoning and analytical ability. Advanced learners engage with spectroscopy, chemical modelling, and experimental design, fostering independent thinking and practical skills. Hands-on examples, guided exercises, and discussions are incorporated to reinforce comprehension and application.
Beyond academics, chemistry lessons develop precision, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability. Students learn to interpret results, understand complex systems, and apply knowledge confidently. My goal is to help learners master concepts, excel in assessments, and develop a lasting appreciation for chemistry’s role in science and daily life.
