About John
As a chemistry tutor, I provide personalised one-to-one lessons carefully tailored to each student’s needs and level of understanding. My approach focuses on building both conceptual clarity and strong recall, ensuring students can confidently apply their knowledge in any context. I do this using carefully structured questions which are both syllabus and exam specific. I have access to a wide range of high-quality resources. I adapt my methods to suit individual learning needs while identifying any areas which need strengthening, helping each student achieve meaningful and lasting progress in chemistry. I have experience with both students who have struggled with the subject as well as gifted and talented. I have taught Chemistry and Science at all levels with over 20 years of teaching experience both in England and internationally and was Head of Chemistry at a top international school for 8 years. My University background in chemistry and research publications means I have a much wider knowledge of the subject, enhancing the whole tutoring experience and providing real world applications to the topics studied. My students have had significant success in their examinations and university placements.
