About Oliver
Hi, I'm Oliver. I have a PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College London and currently work in finance. While I was at Imperial, I spent a lot of time teaching undergraduate Chemistry, Physics and Maths, and was lucky enough to be recognised twice as runner-up for the University's Best Graduate Teaching Assistant award.
I enjoy tutoring because I know how much difference a good explanation can make. I was taught by people who focused on examples rather than memorisation, and that's an approach I've carried into my own teaching. Outside work, I enjoy running, cooking and aviation.

I offer tailored Chemistry and Maths tuition at GCSE, A-level and degree level, with lessons designed around each student's needs and goals. I like to keep things practical, explaining concepts through clear examples and visual methods rather than relying on memorisation. It's how I was taught, and it's the approach I've found most effective both in my own learning and when helping others. My aim is to build genuine understanding, giving students the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
I hold a PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College London and have spent my career applying mathematics and analytical thinking to solve complex real-world problems in both academia and industry. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and combine clear explanations, worked examples and exam-style practice in a supportive, relaxed environment. Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve your grades or prepare for exams, I'll tailor each lesson to your learning style and help you achieve your goals, whether you're studying for GCSEs, A-levels or a degree.
