About Rachel
I have been teaching at the high school level for 18 years so I am patient, have a positive attitude, and personalized approach. I come to each tutoring session well-prepared and organized, and have a structured lesson plan, materials, and resources ready in advance.
I attentively listen to my students' concerns, questions, and feedback. Show empathy and understanding, and address their needs and challenges effectively.
I encourage and support my students throughout their learning journey. I provide positive reinforcement, constructive feedback, and praise for their efforts and achievements. I also stay updated on the latest developments in chemistry education, teaching methods, and technology. I hope to inspire confidence, and foster a positive and productive learning experience for all involved.

My teaching method Incorporates multimedia resources such as videos, animations, simulations, and virtual labs that can enhance students' understanding of complex chemical concepts. I also use analogies and mnemonics to help students relate new chemical concepts to familiar ideas and aid in memory retention.
A typical lesson would include an Introduction/Engagement piece followed by review/recap- of key concepts or topics covered in the previous lesson to reinforce learning and establish connections to the current lesson.
Next, I would present new concepts, theories, or principles through lectures, discussions, or multimedia resources. I would also use visual aids, diagrams, and real-life examples to illustrate abstract concepts and enhance understanding.
Following that it would be the application/Practice portion of the lesson, and finally consider how to accommodate diverse learners' needs and provide additional support or enrichment as necessary.
I have a deep understanding of chemistry concepts, and I have effective communication skills. I have been teaching at the high school level for 18 years so I am patient, have a positive attitude, and personalized approach. I have taught Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, and AP Chemistry, and I hope to have a meaningful impact on my students' academic journey.
