About Grace

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor currently studying at Durham University, with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. My achievements in education so far reflect both academic excellence and strong independent learning skills.

What sets me apart is my commitment to tailoring every lesson to the individual student. I understand that no two learners are the same, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals. I focus on building confidence, developing clear exam technique, and ensuring students truly understand the content rather than memorising it.

I love my field of study because it rewards curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving — skills I aim to develop in my students. Through structured lessons, clear explanations, and consistent support, I help students make real progress and achieve results they can be proud of. I have always been interested in Chemistry and can't wait to pass this desire to learn on to my students!

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to the individual, using a structured mix of content review, topic-specific questions, and exam-style practice. Before lessons, I prepare materials based on the student’s syllabus, current level, and targets, ensuring time is used efficiently and productively.

I understand how stressful exams can be, so I draw on a wide range of revision and learning techniques to suit different learning styles. Lessons are adapted to how each student best retains information, whether that involves visual explanations, step-by-step guidance, discussion, or active exam practice. I place strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students understand how to approach questions and secure maximum marks.

To help students achieve their goals, I set clear objectives and regularly review progress through targeted questions, exam practice, and feedback. Progress is measured by increased confidence, improved accuracy, and the ability to independently apply knowledge.

Most importantly, I focus on making lessons engaging, supportive, and enjoyable while building confidence, as I believe students learn best when they feel motivated, comfortable, and encouraged.
