About Ivy
My teaching approach to Chess focuses on making the game practical, engaging, and easy to understand. I use real-life examples and case studies from famous matches to show strategies in action. I also teach related skills such as pattern recognition, decision-making, critical thinking, and time management to help students grow both on and off the board. I adapt my lessons to each student’s level, providing flexibility so beginners, intermediate, and advanced players can all progress at their own pace. Lessons include interactive game analysis, exercises, and scenario-based learning to strengthen understanding and practical application. Collaboration is a key part of my method. I encourage students to discuss ideas, review games together, and learn from each other’s experiences. Teaching with compassion ensures students feel supported, confident, and motivated to improve. This way, they not only learn the moves but also develop strategic thinking and enjoy the game fully.

I am an experienced Chess tutor with 6 years of teaching high school and college students. Over the years, I have successfully guided 150–200 students, helping them develop strong skills in openings, middlegames, and endgames. My approach focuses on building a solid foundation while making learning enjoyable and engaging for every student.
My teaching philosophy revolves around patience, clarity, and strategic thinking. I believe Chess is more than just a game; it enhances critical thinking, problem-solving, and focus, which are valuable both on and off the board. I use real-game examples, practical exercises, and step-by-step guidance to ensure students understand every concept deeply.
Throughout my career, many of my students have achieved top ranks in school and college tournaments. I take pride in helping them grow not just as players, but as confident thinkers and decision-makers. My goal is to inspire every student to think creatively, play strategically, and enjoy the beauty of Chess while achieving measurable improvement.
