About Gemma
My teaching methodology for Chess focuses on fostering creativity, integrity, and effective time management in every lesson. I encourage students to think beyond conventional strategies, exploring innovative moves and approaches to solve complex positions. By emphasizing creative problem-solving, I help learners develop their own unique style while strengthening strategic thinking across openings, middlegames, and endgames.
I guide students to respect the rules of the game, practice fair play, and build a strong ethical mindset, which not only applies to chess but also to life. Lessons are structured to combine theory, practical exercises, and real-game analysis, ensuring that students learn to make thoughtful decisions under pressure while maintaining honesty and sportsmanship.
Besides Chess, I also tutor related subjects like Math, Logic, and Critical Thinking, applying the same principles of creativity, integrity, and structured problem-solving. My lessons are interactive, goal-oriented, and tailored to help each student progress steadily while building confidence and lifelong skills.

I am a dedicated and passionate Chess tutor with over six years of experience, committed to helping students of all levels from beginners to advanced players master the game. Throughout my teaching career, I have guided around 200 students, each with unique learning styles and goals. I take pride in offering a highly personalized approach, designing lessons that adapt to the individual needs of my students. My mission is not only to teach chess but also to instill a lifelong love for the game by making each session engaging, insightful, and enjoyable.
My expertise spans all stages of chess, including the fundamentals, openings, middlegames, and endgames. I emphasize building a strong foundation of critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving, ensuring that students understand both the theory and practical application of each concept. Lessons include real-life examples, case studies, and interactive exercises to deepen understanding and improve decision-making skills. I also focus on time management and effective game analysis, helping students develop the ability to plan ahead and anticipate their opponent’s moves strategically.
Beyond improving chess skills, my teaching nurtures important life skills such as patience, resilience, focus, and discipline. Whether students are preparing for competitions, school tournaments, or simply want to enhance their gameplay for personal satisfaction, I guide them at their own pace while maintaining consistent progress. With a passion for chess and a deep understanding of the game, I ensure that learning is both effective and rewarding. My goal is to help every student not only succeed in chess but also gain confidence, sharpen their mind, and enjoy the intellectual challenge that chess offers.
