About David
I've only recently started to teach ESL, so I'm still quite a newbie.
I currently have two students, who I've been teaching for 2 months now. Both of them are Chinese students who just began settling in the US. The younger one is in elementary, his name is Tony, and a fun fact is he is already a diamond rank player in League of Legends. The older one is Edwin and he is in high school.
Along with their English, I've been helping them with their homework as well, so Tony is getting a better understand at how to read math problems as that was a big problem for him, and Edwin is doing quite well in AP World History after I explained it to him and left him with notes in Chinese.

I'm a film major currently studying at San Diego Mesa College, being someone who was in ESL and now completely at ease with English, I understand the struggles that many foreign students face, having to deal with a different language, environment, and culture can be overwhelming, stressful, even depressing at times.
What I wish to do for the students are to allow them to deal with studying English in a less stressful, more engaging and fun manner. Just picking up a dictionary and learning all the words might not be suitable for everybody, and I think someone would much rather be listening to music, sharing a great movie, playing video games, and exploring the area they live in, and meeting new friends. These will all be part of my lesson plan.
I'm hoping to get to know you or your kid and help them get through this tough transition and do it without even noticing it.
