About Shantel
Hello! You can call me Shan.
I've been involved in public and private tutoring for many years, mainly because I believe that we should all help each other along our journey of self-growth!
I've tutored in both Math and English subjects, as I majored in Math (career wise) and I have a love for the arts (literature wise). I know first hand what it's like not to be able to read or write properly, or be at the level of academics one would like to be - it is frustrating!
But I am here to help! Whether you're a beginner in the world of the English language or Literature, or you need to brush up on your essay writing skills, I am here to work with you!

My approach is simple:
We read a provided text (i.e a short story); then we dissect what we read by asking/answering meaningful questions; we explore themes; and finally, we practice application of themes to real-life scenarios!
These lessons should advance the student's reading ability, proficiency in writing, and comfort when publicly speaking. Lessons are constructed based on the student's age and level of prior education.
