About Mahi

Hey there! My name is Mahi Shukla, and I am a first year Civil Engineering Student at the University of Toronto. I have a strong passion for the maths and sciences, and love teaching and helping others! I’ve been a tutor to younger grades for 2+ years in high school, and have been a peer mentor all throughout high school! I graduated high school with Honour Roll all 4 years, achieving 90+ average in my final year. I’m very patient and understanding, and really want to help you succeed in your academic endeavours!

About the lesson

My teaching style focuses on making sure that you not just understand a specific question, but to also build your problem solving skills and holistic understanding of a subject. I use visual aids and real world examples to help keep lessons engaging and easy to follow. A typical lesson would consistent of a review of past material, and then a detailed breakdown of the new topic. This would include examples, conceptual problems and sample problems to practice with. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I put a heavy emphasis on creating a supportive, welcoming learning environment. All questions are welcome, and I will always take the time to be patient and understanding with each individual’s learning process. I can tailor my lessons to match your pace and am committed to seeing you succeed! My lessons are primarily for grades 7-12, in Math, Physics and Chemistry. For Grade 12, I can tutor Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, Physics and Chemistry. For Grade 11 and below, I can tutor all Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
