About Uncle Bob

I’m Uncle Bob, a classical guitarist and experienced music teacher based in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. I began playing guitar at age 14, and my lifelong passion is helping students discover the confidence and enjoyment that come from making music.

My teaching combines classical guitar fundamentals with an adaptive, visual, and encouraging approach influenced by the Suzuki method. I welcome beginners, children, adults, seniors, and neurodiverse learners. Lessons are adjusted to each student’s age, experience, learning style, and musical goals.

Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked as a software developer. That experience helped me create an organized, step-by-step learning system with digital practice tools, progress tracking, music theory, and structured learning levels.

I offer local instruction for students in Plattsmouth and surrounding communities, including Bellevue, Papillion, Omaha, and Council Bluffs. I also help students across the United States through online lessons and a flexible Self-Directed Study option.

About the lesson

Every student begins with an introductory lesson so I can learn about their goals, experience, musical interests, and preferred way of learning. Together, we choose the level of instruction and support that fits them best.

Local students may attend personalized lessons at my Plattsmouth studio. I also provide live online lessons for students outside the area.

For learners who need more flexibility, I offer a nationwide Self-Directed Study option. Students follow an organized learning path at their own pace using structured assignments, practice materials, music theory, progress tools, and guided learning levels. They can schedule an individual coaching lesson whenever they need help and complete an assessment when they are ready to advance to the next level.

Instruction may include:

• Classical guitar technique and posture
• Note reading and rhythm
• Music theory and ear training
• Chords, scales, and fingerstyle skills
• Practice planning and progress tracking
• Personalized feedback and encouragement
• Preparation for advancement assessments

Whether you prefer regular private lessons or more independent study, my goal is to make learning the guitar clear, enjoyable, and achievable.
