About Avery
Simple habits often produce the most significant results in guitar practice. A good lesson should feel like a conversation rather than a rigid list of demands.
I apply my 6 years of experience to help you conquer complex barre chords and intricate soloing. Drawing upon my degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, I ensure every strumming pattern is executed with efficiency. We spend time on electric and acoustic techniques to build your overall dexterity. My training in theatre allows me to communicate rhythm and improvisation concepts with great clarity.
I find that breaking down reading tabs into smaller segments helps students gain confidence quickly. The 104 students I have taught previously have taught me that patience is essential for growth. My approach remains consistent and precise to help you become a more capable player. I enjoy seeing the moment a student finally masters a challenging chord transition.

My 6 years of experience include a 9-year tenure with the Hallé Orchestra and various UK ensembles.
This background informs how I teach barre chords, strumming patterns, and electric technique. I have successfully guided 104 students through their musical development. I emphasise reading tabs and developing a solid acoustic foundation for teens, working professionals, and performance-focused students.
