About Louisa

I'm in the final year of a BA in Classics and Philosophy. In 2023, I was awarded the Top Scholar prize for the top result in scholarship Classics, even though I’d only picked up the subject that year. The learning curve I went through showed me the best approaches for studying classics, and I've been teaching others those techniques for the last 3 years.

I hold a B2 DELF certificate in French, and was one of two recipients of Outstanding Scholarships for 2023. I love French language and culture, and especially sharing that culture with others. French can be intimidating, so I like to make my sessions as relaxing and fun as possible. My students have commented on how much this helps them.

My love of reading and literature led me to be top in English in my year, and I received a Scholarship in English. I've been tutoring English for the last 3 years to year 13 level, with my students improving greatly over the course of our sessions. English literature is a diverse and exciting area of study, and I encourage my students to find the bits of it they love.

More than anything, I love to learn! I hope to share that love with my students.

About the lesson

Through my time in high school and working as a tutor, I've grown to understand that the need for support often extends beyond what schools can provide. I want to help students get the most out of their high school experience and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Tutoring with me offers a welcoming study space where students can get their questions answered one-on-one. My aim is to help students walk away from each session feeling more confident and more connected to their learning, with the goal that that will be reflected in their results.

I tutor:
- high school classics to scholarship, and to 3rd-year undergraduate level.
- French to year 13
- English to Scholarship
- Latin to year-13

I'm happy to run sessions for half an hour, 45 minutes or an hour, depending on the student and their needs.

Her knowledge is top notch but more importantly she is so easy to learn from because of how she focuses on building a connection with the learner and really understanding what they need and how they'll learn best.
