About Marla
With 6 years of experience helping students go from “this code makes no sense” to “I built that myself.” I remember how frustrating your first bug or nested loop can be. I’ve been there too. That’s why I teach code as logical thinking and problem-solving, not just memorizing syntax.
Over the past 6 years, I’ve worked with 150+ K-12 and college 1st year students in Python, Java, C++, and web development. Whether you’re brand new to coding, prepping for AP Computer Science A/Principles, or stuck in college CS101, I break concepts down visually and guide you through real projects so it sticks. My goal is simple: make you confident enough to code without me.

I teach programming by getting you coding from day one — no endless theory before you see results. Whether you’re in middle school learning Scratch, high school tackling AP Computer Science, or college struggling with CS101, we build real programs together while learning the fundamentals. Each lesson starts with your goal: homework help, exam prep, or building a portfolio project. Then we break concepts like variables, loops, functions, and data structures into simple, visual steps and apply them immediately in code. You’ll learn how to think like a programmer, not just copy syntax, so you can debug errors, read documentation, and solve problems on your own. We code in Python, Java, C++, or web languages based on your course, and you’ll finish every session with working code and clarity on what to practice next. If coding feels confusing now, my lessons will make it click.
