About Jeffrey
My chemistry/biochemistry/biology career spans four decades, mostly in the industrial environment. I was part of a team that located the cystic fibrosis gene on human chromosome 7, developed a method to detect small molecule hormones employed by a major diagnostics company for fifteen years, developed molecular biology research products for the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, university, hospital and toxicology laboratories, among others. I have published scientific articles in Science, Nature, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) and Cell. In addition, I have obtained multiple US patents for life science procedures and techniques. Finally, I have presented scientific data and conclusions to audiences in the US and Europe.

I help students understand basic scientific principles (chemistry, biochemistry, biology) so that they can confidently explain them to me before we move on to the next subject. Math problems are worked step-by-step, once again building student confidence that future problems can be solved. I am very patient and methodical with all students from grades seven through post-graduate college experience.
