About Catia
Hi! My name is Catia! I am an incoming freshman at the University of Illinois and passionate about helping students grow their English and writing skills. I have a strong background in essay writing, grammar, and spelling. I scored a 10 on the ACT writing section, placing me in the top 1-2% of test takers, and landing me a writing position at Culture In Sports.
I enjoy working with K-12 students and have experience working with students that have autism. My tutoring approach emphasizes building a strong foundation in English basics, helping students write naturally, and showing how strong sentences create strong paragraphs, which lead to excellent essays. I focus on making lessons clear, engaging, and personalized so every student can gain confidence and develop lifelong communication skills. Outside of tutoring, I am a competitive figure skater and love traveling, learning new languages, and reading.

I specialize in working with students K-12, including those with autism or unique learning needs. With a strong background in writing, scoring a 10 on the ACT writing section, I know how to guide students in expressing their ideas clearly and confidently.
My lessons focus on building a solid foundation in the basics of proper English, natural-sounding language, and helping students understand how a strong sentence builds into a strong paragraph, which creates a strong essay. Typical lessons include a mix of grammar practice, reading comprehension, writing exercises, and personalized feedback. I aim to make learning engaging and accessible, helping students feel confident in their writing skills.
