About Nelle
Hi, I'm Nelle! I’m a Health Sciences major on the pre-med track, currently finishing my freshman year and getting ready to start sophomore year.
In high school, I took advanced-level science and math classes, so I have a strong academic background and personal experience with the subjects I tutor. I also volunteered as a tutor in high school, which helped me learn how to support students with different learning styles. I’m a dedicated and patient person, and my goal is to help students feel confident in their academic abilities while giving them the support they need to grow.

My tutoring style is relaxed and supportive. I try to create an environment where students feel like they’re learning with a comfortable, trustworthy peer rather than a strict teacher. I want them to feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check‑in to make sure the student is mentally and emotionally ready to focus. Then we review the previous material before moving into the main lesson, where I include short, collaborative practice problems. At the end, I have the student try a few problems on their own so I can see what they understand and what still needs work.
I work with junior high students as well as high school freshmen through seniors.
