About Flannery
I’m a college freshman with four years of experience tutoring diverse groups of elementary and middle-school students in Baltimore in math and English. I make learning engaging, utilizing discussion-based lessons, creativity, and application to real-world problems in lessons. My goal is to build students' confidence through personalized sessions, using a variety of tools that can help students thrive in our virtual sessions.

I have experience in tutoring grades 2-7 in Baltimore City. I love helping students see learning as something relatable, creative, and applicable to their daily lives. I like to combine my sessions with creativity - acting out books, connecting characters to students' lives, and using dynamic crafts. During sessions, I like to tailor the lesson to a student's interests to keep them engaged, relating topics to daily life interactions. Typically, a lesson might include reading a passage together, students writing a reflection, and us discussing what a passage means as well as tying it to other reading materials. I like to blend tutoring with confidence-building and critical thinking. I work best with elementary and middle school students (grades 2-8) in writing and reading skills. I am available virtually to meet.
