About Doris

I am a committed singing tutor with 6 years of experience teaching school, college, and working professional students. I have successfully mentored 200 to 300 students, helping them build strong vocal skills and stage confidence. My teaching philosophy centers on real-world examples, collaboration, and patience, allowing every learner to progress at their own comfortable pace. I focus on breath control, pitch accuracy, and tone development through steady, encouraging practice. I also involve group exercises to help learners build listening and blending skills. My aim is to build a supportive space where learners grow into confident, expressive singers who genuinely enjoy the art of singing.

About the lesson

My teaching method for Singing, Vocal Technique, and Music Theory centers on helping each learner uncover their natural voice while gradually building the skills needed for confident performance. I view singing as a skill that develops through steady, guided practice paired with real encouragement.

I bring in real-world examples and case studies from working vocalists and genuine performance settings to show learners how lesson content connects to real singing situations, whether auditions, recordings, or live shows. This makes the learning path feel practical and meaningful rather than purely theoretical.

Collaboration shapes much of my teaching. I often bring in group warm ups, duet practice, or harmony exercises so learners actively listen, blend their voice with others, and grasp how singing works within a group setting, not just as a solo pursuit.

Patience is central to my teaching style. Vocal growth takes time, and progress can feel slow at certain points, especially with breath control or pitch accuracy. I never rush a learner and instead adjust the session pace based on their comfort and confidence, celebrating small wins along the way.

My sessions usually begin with breathing drills and vocal warm ups to build a solid technical base. From there, I move to pitch training, tone development, and breath support work, gradually adding music theory basics like rhythm and note reading to deepen understanding.

For more experienced learners, I focus on stage presence, dynamic control, and genre specific techniques such as classical, pop, or playback singing, along with recording practice for studio readiness.

I adjust my teaching to fit each student's personal goals, whether they sing for enjoyment, prepare for auditions, or aim for a professional career. My overall aim is to build a patient, collaborative, and supportive space where learners feel free to explore their voice and grow as confident performers.
