About Xiayan
I am a graduate of comparative literature. I am native in Mandarin Chinese and fluent in English. I have given lessons about Chinese reading and writing to pupils in Beijing. And I am good at public speaking and creative writing.

My teaching method is to trigger students’ interests. I would like to introduce some of the Chinese culture first, make them interested and then introduce to them Chinese characters and the related stories or histories. I believe that language learning is also about learning a new culture and a new lense of looking at the world.
