About Yassine
My name is Yassine and I am excited to introduce myself as a dedicated educator with a passion for nurturing young minds, particularly in the realm of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With my background in business and marketing, I employ a unique approach to education that blends practical application with innovative teaching strategies. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and am currently completing my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). This combination of academic training equips me with a solid foundation in both theory and practice, allowing me to create engaging and effective learning experiences tailored to each child's needs. As an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) teacher at Forest Bridge School, I have successfully designed and implemented individualised strategies that foster skill acquisition, emotional regulation, and behavioural modification. My experience has taught me the importance of creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. I believe that every child has unique strengths and, as an educator, my role is to recognise and nurture these gifts. My hands-on experience in varied preschool and nursery settings has honed my ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of students. Through interactive teaching methods, I focus on creating engaging and practical learning experiences that promote social, emotional, and academic growth. I strongly believe in the power of teamwork when it comes to supporting students. I actively engage with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure that each child receives holistic support tailored to their specific needs. Open communication is a cornerstone of my approach, allowing us to work together effectively and monitor progress continually. My individualised teaching strategies are designed to accommodate each child's unique learning style. Proven Results I employ data-driven decision-making to track student progress and adapt my methodologies accordingly, resulting in measurable improvements in both academics and social skills. I strive to create a classroom culture that promotes respect, dignity, and optimism—essentials in fostering a love of learning. I am devoted to inspiring and shaping young minds, equipping students with the skills they need to thrive within and beyond the classroom. I look forward to the possibility of working with you and your child. Together, we can create a nurturing and enriching educational experience that empowers students to achieve their dreams. Thank you for considering me as your child's educator!

Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This lesson plan focuses on the theme of social skills and communication, aiming to enhance interaction among peers. Grade Level: Primary (Ages 6-10) Learning Objectives: - Students will demonstrate the ability to initiate and maintain a conversation with peers. - Students will identify appropriate and inappropriate social behaviours. - Students will role-play scenarios that involve making and keeping friends. Introduction - Begin by discussing what it means to be a friend. Use visual aids to illustrate the characteristics of friendship (e.g., kindness, sharing, listening). - Ask students to share their ideas about what makes a good friend. Write their responses on the whiteboard. Direct Instruction - Introduce the concept of initiating conversation. Use a social story that describes how to say "hello" and ask someone to play. - Discuss appropriate body language (e.g., making eye contact, smiling). - Highlight examples of friendly and unfriendly behaviours using visuals (e.g., sharing toys vs. grabbing). Guided Practice - Pair students up and provide each pair with scenario cards that describe various social situations (e.g., "You see someone sitting alone at recess. What do you do?"). - Instruct pairs to discuss their scenarios first and then practice role-playing the best response to the situation. - Circulate to provide support and feedback as students engage in role play. Independent Practice - Have students create a "Making Friends" poster that includes at least three things they can do to make or keep a friend. - Encourage them to draw pictures or use words to express their ideas. Assist those who may need help with writing or drawing. Closure - Invite students to share their posters with the class. Highlight positive contributions and reinforce key learning points. - Review the Social Skills Chart from earlier and encourage students to practice these skills during recess. Assessment: - Monitor student participation in discussions and role plays for understanding and engagement. - Collect the "Making Friends" posters as a demonstration of their understanding of friendship concepts. - Use anecdotal notes to assess individual progress in social interaction skills throughout the lesson. Adaptations: - For students who may struggle with verbal communication, allow the use of communication aids (e.g., picture cards) to express their thoughts. - Provide additional social stories or role-play scenarios for students needing more support. - Allow breaks or sensory tools for students who may become overwhelmed. Follow-Up Activities: - Organise a "Friendship Day" where students practice their new skills in a safe environment with structured activities. - Implement regular social skills check-ins to reinforce lessons learned. This lesson plan can be adapted further based on the specific needs and dynamics of your class!
