About Matilde
"Mathematics has been a constant exercise in logic for me since my early days of formal schooling. Over the last 13 years, I have refined a pedagogical style that emphasizes conceptual learning over rote memorization.
My toolkit includes word problems, mental math, coordinate geometry, SAT/ACT math prep, and trigonometry. I also teach algebra, advanced problem solving strategies, Vedic math techniques, and competition math prep. "Clarity is the single most important metric for a productive hour of mathematics study. My sessions typically involve breaking down a difficult problem into smaller, manageable steps until the underlying pattern becomes obvious to the student. Drawing on 13 years of teaching and my current PhD candidacy, I explain how algebra and trigonometry function as connected languages rather than isolated chapters in a textbook. We will often utilize Vedic math techniques to increase your speed during SAT or ACT math prep sections, effectively turning tedious calculations into intuitive mental steps.
