About Ahmed

I like to think I am a patient and helpful person and I try to extend that to my teaching as well. I try my best to engage with the people around me and open up to them. I feel a need to ensure the integrity of my work and the knowledge I am imparting as I would feel guilt and responsibility if I didn't help someone enough or even worse gave them the wrong information. Hence why I take great care of how I speak and what I say as to ensure a lack of errors and misinformation.

I believe everyone has a different teaching style, which is why I try to adapt to the student rather than adapt them to my teaching as I can do that without wasting much time and effort. it also helps in making the students more comfortable and more perceptive and absorbant of knowledge. All in all, I try my best to teach someone the way they like to be taught.

Me as a Teacher:

I like to be a patient teacher, and I like students I teach to develop a sense of independence, so I generally offer minor guidance until major guidance is needed. I sometimes overly explain concepts and theories and rules as I find building a solid foundation is essential sometimes. I like to engage my students as to test their focus and knowledge, which helps in assessing how to teach them too.

I believe everyone has different ways of learning and hence I try to cater for the various ways students may be able to gain knowledge in a solid manner, and hence there is no real teaching style I use, I just adapt to the student I am teaching

Experience:

I taught at a coding academy-type school in KL known as Kidocode as an intern there for four months, and from then on I realized that I do in fact like teaching and that I should try to pursue it. I taught coding languages there, mobile app development, web development & Mathematics.

Aside from that, I have unprofessional experience in tutoring my various friends from different universities regarding their courses that are related to my Computer Science course. I enjoyed teaching adults like them as they can understand me clearly. and since I score well in my university relative to my coursemates I generally get asked to tutor them too which I never minded as I like helping the people around me.

Length of Lessons:

I think lessons should be 1-2 hours long as any longer is too long and any shorter is not enough to impart some knowledge onto students.

Who may my lessons be for?

Well ideally, students that are of early age up until like the final years of high school. I can technically tutor students older than that but it would :

1. require preparation and
2. I may not be the best option out there.

I became comfortable teaching early-age kids too since the academy I was working at generally had students of a very young age. and generally, I would get the troublemakers as I am patient and don't cause any issues with the kids.

Hence for me teaching early-age kids became normal-ish. But overall I am confident in my knowledge and ability to teach students aged 5-18 or so.
