About Ryan
I'm currently a student and have been programming in Java since I was 13. I love inspiring and passing on my knowledge onto others. I know how hard programming can be to wrap your head around, and I also know how much sense it can make with the right teacher. I'm also a part-time swim instructor and have lots of experience with teaching a wide range of students. I have taught beginners with no experience in Java or programming in order for them to pass their first year computer science / programming courses, and I have also taught others picking it up as a hobby. No matter your reason for learning Java, whether it be for future job prospects or for personal projects, we will work together in order to meet your learning goals!

I have taught beginners and privately tutored undergraduate students, these lessons are meant for anyone without an undergraduate degree. I start by identifying your level, and whether you have gaps in your knowledge. We will then work together on filling those gaps with code examples, discussing the concepts and finally by writing code together. If you are starting from scratch then we will start with the basic principles, installing a development environment (where you program), and playing around with basic language features in order for you to grasp those concepts well before moving on.
