About Cheryl

I love all the creative things that you can make with code!

I have a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Toronto (specialist focus in computer vision) and I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in computer science at the University of Waterloo. Very broadly, my research is on creating tools for artists and designers to express their creativity. Lately, that has taken the form of virtual reality research.

When I'm not doing research, I also host office hours for an intro to programming class at UW so I have lots of experience with presenting programming concepts in a way that's understandable to beginners. It's so fulfilling to see students make progress with their programming skills and I want to help you do the same!

About the lesson

Hi there!

I love helping people learn how to code, so I would be happy to help with understanding concepts from a course or getting started with programming! The structure of the lessons would depend on your goals and experience. Need help understanding a lecture? Maybe we can make up some examples so that you can see the concepts in a different way. Completely lost on how to start learning to code? I can walk you through it!

Whether you're a high school student looking to learn something new, an undergrad who needs some help with a course, or somebody who just wants to get started with programming, I'd love to help you on your adventures with code!
