About Daniel
Hi! I'm Dan, a Computer Science student at Aberystwyth University with a genuine enthusiasm for the subject and for helping others understand it.
I'm aiming to pursue a career in teaching after completing my degree, and tutoring gives me the opportunity to develop my teaching experience while helping students build their own confidence in Computer Science.
I've always enjoyed breaking complicated ideas down into simpler, more approachable explanations, and I believe learning works best when students feel comfortable asking questions and getting things wrong along the way.
Computer Science can be an incredibly enjoyable subject once the concepts start to click. I hope to help students develop their understanding and problem-solving skills while working towards the GCSE grade they want to achieve.

I believe Computer Science is best learnt by understanding how and why something works, rather than simply memorising definitions for an exam.
I like to use practical examples and everyday situations to make abstract concepts easier to understand. For example, when introducing algorithms, I might ask a student to explain how to make the perfect cup of tea, before exploring why their instructions need to be precise, ordered and unambiguous.
Lessons are typically one hour long and are tailored to the individual student. We can focus on topics they are struggling with, reinforce material from school, work through programming problems, or practise GCSE-style questions and exam technique.
I am currently studying Computer Science at Aberystwyth University and offer tutoring primarily for GCSE Computer Science students of all abilities. My aim is to provide a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their understanding at their own pace.
