About Kent

I'm a studying media computer science at the HSD in Duesseldorf. I studied half a year in California (CSU CI) and majored in physics and mathematics for my A-Levels.

I have never officially given tuition, but my fellow students found my learning support so helpful that they recommended this platform to me.

About the lesson

My methodology is very much dependent on who I teach.

Students in grades 5-13:

For a student, I will use the existing study plan as a basis and build on the materials from the classroom.
For the concepts which were not understood, I will create new, customized material. Tasks will be completed together and their connection to the previously learned concepts will be explained and highlighted. In order to be able to tailor the lessons to the student, the materials from the classroom are essential.

University students:

For students, I will follow their scripts in order to keep the tutoring as close to the course material as possible. Concepts will be discussed and put into context with the tasks set. The solution to these tasks will be worked out together.

People interested in the basics of computer science:

I will start at the very beginning and at the end of the first (free) hour we will install a development environment (IDE) together (no matter how long it should take). Then we will work our way through C# until we have programmed two small games together in Unity (game engine) or a small application with Java and JavaFX.

Perfect! Sehr guter Unterricht mit viel Geduld und Verständnis, wenn mal was nicht auf Anhieb funktionierte. Er konnte auch gut auf verschiedene Wege Dinge erklären. Super!
