About Jamshyed
As a Computer Science undergraduate, I have developed a strong understanding of mathematics, as much of the theory in computing is built on mathematical concepts. The two subjects are closely linked, which allows me to explain ideas clearly and logically.
I am particularly interested in teaching Maths and Computer Science, as I enjoy helping students understand not just the content, but also the methods needed to solve mathematical and algorithmic problems effectively.
Having gone through the GCSE process myself and achieved high grades using a structured, systematic approach, I aim to help students adopt similar strategies to succeed in their exams.
I also have experience supporting GCSE students during my time at school while studying A-level Maths, Further Maths, and Chemistry, where I helped others improve their understanding and confidence in Maths.

Understanding the material is the most important step, followed by consistent practice and applying knowledge to exam questions.
In our lessons, we will focus on any topics you find challenging, breaking them down into clear, simple explanations and building your confidence step by step until you feel comfortable tackling exam questions independently.
We will also work through past papers together, with a strong focus on exam technique, timing, and how to pick up as many marks as possible.
Lessons are flexible and can be 1 or 2 hours depending on your preference.
I am currently studying Computer Science at the University of Birmingham and I am going into my penultimate year.
My tutoring is best suited for students preparing for their GCSEs in Maths or Computer Science who want to improve their understanding, exam performance, and overall confidence. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your goals or book a first lesson.
