About Nicole

Hello! My name is Nicole Lister, and I am a Bachelor of Education (Senior Phase and FET) student at Nelson Mandela University, specializing in History.

I have over five years of tutoring experience and am passionate about helping learners reach their full academic potential. Throughout high school, I achieved first place in my grade from Grades 9 to 12, and I have maintained distinctions in all my university modules.

As a future educator, I understand that every learner is unique. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and developing a deeper understanding of their subjects.

I am dedicated, patient, and committed to helping learners achieve their academic goals through structured lessons, effective study techniques, and personalized support.

About the lesson

My History tutoring lessons are designed for learners in Grades 7–12 who want to improve their understanding of historical content, develop source-based question skills, and achieve better results in tests and examinations.

My teaching approach focuses on helping learners understand History rather than simply memorising facts. I use past papers extensively, working through one topic or skill at a time to identify common question patterns and examiner expectations. This helps learners build confidence and improve their answering techniques.

I teach exclusively in English.

A typical lesson includes a review of key content, guided practice with source-based and essay questions, and feedback on answering techniques and exam strategies. Lessons are tailored to each learner's individual needs and goals.

My lessons are suitable for all Grade 7–12 learners, whether they need support with classwork, exam preparation, essay writing, or achieving top marks in History.
