About Jack
I’m currently a student at Cornell University with a strong background in computer science and mathematics, including experience with competitive programming and Olympiad-level problem solving. I genuinely enjoy helping others understand challenging concepts and making subjects like math and programming feel more approachable and even enjoyable.
I’m patient, easy to talk to, and always adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs and pace. Whether you’re struggling with the basics or aiming for top performance, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build confidence step by step. I take preparation seriously and always come to lessons ready with clear explanations and thoughtful practice.

I focus on building deep understanding and strong problem-solving skills rather than memorization. My teaching method is structured but flexible: I break down complex concepts into simple, intuitive steps, then reinforce them through carefully chosen practice problems. I emphasize thinking like a programmer and a mathematician, not just getting the right answer.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous material, followed by introducing a key concept (such as algorithms, data structures, or mathematical techniques). We then work through problems together, gradually increasing difficulty, and I guide students to develop their own strategies. I also assign targeted practice and share problem-solving techniques used in competitive programming and Olympiad settings.
What sets me apart is my background as a Cornell student with experience in high-level computer science competitions. I understand how to train for excellence, not just pass classes. I teach efficient thinking, pattern recognition, and how to approach unfamiliar problems with confidence.
