About Larry

After earning my PhD in Marketing at The Ohio State University in 1970, I taught many marketing courses, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, at New York University and University of Massachusetts Amherst. This involved extensive interaction with students in planning and evaluating their written and oral class presentations, master's thesis and doctoral dissertations. While serving as the Senior specialist for Development, International Programs, University of Massachusetts Amherst, I worked with its administrators, faculty and students to prepare and strengthen their oral and written presentations to American and foreign corporations and universities. When I was the Executive Director, International Business & Management Institute, University of Maryland Global Campus, Tokyo, Japan, my work consisted of oral and written presentations with the American, European and Japanese contract instructors, corporate client representatives, and corporate client trainee managers and staff. This involved sensitivity, flexibility and tact in working with Japanese and local managers and staff at client sites in 20 countries, and with manager-track employees from 70 countries engaging in training at the Tokyo head office. A major part of my job at a global South Korean holistic health corporation in the Washington, DC area and Sedona, AZ required me to coach and edit the written and oral presentation projects of Asian and American employees. For my free-lance business consulting, training and coaching work, I guided client executives and staff to enhance their oral and written communication.

About the lesson

I coach English for written and oral presentations based on projects the learner is currently or planning to do. I give positive and constructive feedback. The learner does the project again, giving their own feedback, with more feedback from me. We repeat the process until the leaner and I are fully satisfied. Besides gaining proper English and effective oral and written competence, I help the learner become aware of and release any mental or emotional issues that are interfering with strong learning and peak performance – such as anxiety and anger, lack of confidence and courage. And all this learning is done using my “Edutainment Approach,” which fuses learning and mastery strategies with the delight and uplift of enjoyment.
