About Daphne
I’m a guitar tutor with over 3 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering, specialising in guitar. I’m passionate about helping students improvise in jazz and blues while developing their own voice.
My teaching is supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented, perfect for school students, hobbyists, and professional musicians. I emphasise modal scales, arpeggios, dominant seventh theory, and bebop phrasing to strengthen improvisational skills.
I’ve helped students from intermediate to advanced levels, including those preparing for professional gigs. Lessons combine technique, theory, and creative exploration to build confidence and musicality.
Students develop phrasing, melodic ideas, and a unique improvisational voice. I guide them to play expressively and spontaneously.
Whether refining solos, blues phrasing, or preparing for gigs, lessons are tailored to your goals. Together, we’ll begin a journey of spontaneous musical expression and creativity.

My teaching approach makes music theory accessible and directly usable for guitarists. I guide students through scales, modes, chord building, and harmonic analysis, showing how concepts translate to the fretboard. Lessons are structured and hands-on.
Students practise applying theory to riffs, solos, and compositions while exploring harmony and improvisation. I focus on comprehension, creativity, and thoughtful musical choices.
I work with Aspiring Rock Stars and Classical Purists, tailoring exercises to their style and goals. Lessons integrate theory, technique, and practical application to ensure fluent, confident playing. Together, we create a strong foundation for improvisation and composition.
