About Sasha
I'm a 4th year student in Creative Writing and Philosophy at Concordia University, and previously studied English at the University of Ottawa. My main areas of interest are modernist fiction, conceptual/post-conceptual poetry, and 18th century German philosophy. I've mainly worked as a bike courier during my time at school, and have helped edit submissions for a couple of journals.

If you're interested in getting accepted to a Creative Writing Program (either at Concordia or elsewhere), I can help you develop your portfolio to ensure the strongest submission possible. We'll begin by looking over your work and using that to gauge your strengths and weaknesses, as well as discussing your goals as a writer. How I approach a creative writing portfolio depends on your interests and current skills, but it will involve a mixture of free exercises to develop imaginative practice, concept-focused exercises to create and develop frameworks for your practice, as well as technical exercises, to develop your ability to express yourself. I may or may not introduce you to works to broaden your horizon of what these forms can be, and, hopefully, to inspire you.
For essays in English I'll sit down with you and discuss your timeline, develop a plan of action, and check in with you on the work you've done each step of the way. As someone with ADHD, I understand the challenges of organizing and preparing for large assignments, and will work with those who face similar struggles to turn that looming assignment into a series of manageable pieces.
