About Caitlin
My name is Caitlin Reiten. I am currently in my third year of university studying psychology. In addition to my psychology major, I am a double minor in art therapy and neuroscience with an emphasis in child development; I also do research for my university primarily focused on children and learning. I took my first psych class during my sophomore year of high school. Since then it has been love at first lesson. I also always knew that I wanted to work with children, but I was unsure of how exactly I wanted to help them. Through some of the courses I have taken, I have been able to delve more into the different veins of the psychology field and hone in on what I find most interesting, and I’ve realized that my passion and purpose is to be able to help young individuals grow and learn and to support them while they do it. I have also learned the importance of creativity and imagination which sparked the desire for an art degree. I have a lot of experience working with people and teaching. I am also still (and probably always will be in some capacity) a student, so I love the idea of being able to share what I am learning and doing with others. I am a hard-working, dependable, personable individual with a passion for psychology that I would love to share with the world.

I am currently a university student in my third year studying psychology with a double minor in art therapy and neuroscience and an emphasis in child development; I also do research for my current university where I look at child development and education. My work history is centered around children as well. Because I am studying a field and performing research on ways to improve school settings and better teach lessons, I would be an excellent tutor. I love using a bit more unconventional lesson plans such as incorporating movies and books and after looking at the text material, trying to use different approaches on information retention. Lesson plans and content material would be based around the needs of the student. I think my current expertise would be most beneficial to high school students and/or first-year students studying psychology; however, I have worked with people of all ages and am very capable of tutoring younger ages as well if the subject matter applies.
