I am currently studying for a Masters of Theology at the University of St Andrews, recently ranked the 3rd best university in the UK. At school I would have never had thought I would be studying at such a great university, but after receiving good advice and wonderful teaching, as well as working out the best methods for me as individual, I reached that goal! I would love to share these tips with you and encourage you in your studies.
I am good at explaining concepts and am very chilled and friendly in my teaching style. I have a lot of experience with working with children of all ages, including holiday camps, directing children's theatre shows and helping at workshop days in Primary schools. I am involved in various societies and groups at university outside academic studies, in my free time I enjoy reading, singing, painting and going for walks with friends.
I am particularly able to help in finding the best revision method for you as a learner, especially using creativity to make revision more fun! Essay writing skills are also something I am able to help with, learning to write well is a huge part of doing well in humanities subjects. This includes helping you write a personal statement for university that will make you stand out as a desirable student.
I am really passionate about my degree subject, Theology. I specialise in Christian theology but am able to teach on most religions, philosophy and ethics up to A-Level, in accordance with the National Curriculum. I received AAB at A2 level, As in Religious Studies (including Philosophy and Ethics) and Theatre Studies and a B in English Literature/Language. I am able to teach on any of these subjects, up to A-Level, including GCSE. At GCSE I received A*s in Religious Studies and History; As in English, German, Drama and Art and Bs in Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
I have a lot of experience in drama and theatre outside of academic studies which I applied to studying it. I also received very high marks on my A-Level English creative writing coursework and enjoy creative writing in my free time, so am able to offer help with those skills.
As a tutor, my main focus is upon learning as a joy in itself and making learning accesible. Learning is so important and exciting, regardless of exams. However, I am able to help you in approaching exams so you can showcase your best knowledge.
